Here is presented the first version of a fully annotated corpus of experimental protocols in life sciences. We are working in improving this annotated corpus to serve as a research resource for the biomedical natural language processing community.

Corpus Characteristics

  • 58 fully annotated protocols,
  • 1769 concepts related to Samples, Instruments and Reagents. These concepts were mapped to concepts represented in ontologies

Corpus Annotation

  • Thirty four annotators. The skills of the annotators was diverse, from students to university professors their areas of expertise were related to the content of the protocols.
  • Three-annotators per document (randomly chosen)
  • Two annotation phases
